Public and stakeholder participation were crucial to the creation of the plan that has strong support for implementation and will achieve the vision that citizens hold for the Niagara Waterfront Opportunity area. The participation program for the project included two major public events, one near the beginning of the process to review preliminary analysis and a second to evaluate concepts in development:
When: June 9, 2015 at 6:30 PM
Where: Niagara Falls Community Education Center Cafeteria (Former 60th Street School), 6040 Lindbergh Avenue, Niagara Falls.
Open House #2. Review study findings and redevelopment concepts
When: February 28, 2017 from 6:30PM – 8:30PM
Where: Niagara Falls Water Board, 5815 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls.

Other Opportunities to Participate
There were also a number of invitation-only events that were part of the Niagara Waterfront Opportunity project including one-on-one interviews with key property owners, neighborhood leaders, and others allowed the project team to obtain additional information and discuss specific issues in greater detail. Later in the process developers from across the region convened on November 3, 2016 to learn about real estate development opportunities in the Niagara Waterfront Opportunity Area.
